Industrial lots planned for Airway Heights land

Nine Mile Falls businessman wants to subdivide 10 acres into 17 lots near 21st, Lyons

February 26, 1997
Rocky Wilson

A Nine Mile Falls businessman has proposed developing 17 industrial lots on 10 acres in Airway Heights.

The businessman, Richard Stimson, who owns a hole-drilling business in Nine Mile Falls called DW Polehole Co., says hes in the final stages of securing binding site-plan approval to subdivide the property, which is located at the northeast corner of 21st Avenue and Lyons Road, about midway between Hayford and Garfield roads.

Stimson is developing the property, to be called Golden Place Industrial Park, through a company he owns called RW Stimson LLC, and he says that once he gets approval from the city of Airway Heights, he plans to build an access road into the property from 21st and install water and sewer to the proposed lots. He says electrical power already is available.

Most of the lots in the planned development will be one-half acre in size, with two lots of about 0.65 acre, says Stimson. He declines to say what prices hell seek for the lots, other than to say theyll be competitive with other non-highway industrial lots here.

Stimson says hell wait to begin marketing the property until after he receives regulatory approval to develop it, but speculates that storage businesses and other small businesses might locate there. He says hell sell the lots, or have buildings erected for possible users and then lease space to them.
