Couple buys BMC complex

Panco Construction owners plan to move that concern to former lumber yard

February 26, 1997
Addy Hatch

The owners of Panco Construction Inc. here have bought the former BMC West Corp. property, at 6206 E. Trent, and plan to move the construction company to that 4.2-acre complex eventually.

Panco currently is located at 7903 E. Broadway and employs 30 to 50 people, depending on the time of year and the number of projects the company is working on, says Ron Sahnow, who owns the company with his wife, Lynda Sahnow.

He says he and his wife were interested in the former BMC West propertywhich includes three buildings that have a total of 56,000 square feet of spacebecause its in a really nice areathe improved, renaissance area of Trent.

The couple made the decision to buy the BMC West property because, Were feeling pretty good about the economy, Sahnow says. Were confident things are getting more active.

Sahnow says he hasnt decided when Panco will move. When it does move, however, the company wont need all the space available at the BMC West complex, so the Sahnows have contracted with commercial real estate agents Tracy Lucas, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., and Jim Bonuccelli, of Village Square Realty Inc., to lease at least part of the space there to other tenants. The agents could end up leasing all of the complex, which would push back Pancos plans to move to that site, Lucas says.

Bonuccelli and Lucas also were involved in the sale of the property to the Sahnows.

BMC West Corp., a Boise-based building-materials distributor, had occupied the location on East Trent for more than a decade. Before that, it was occupied by a Diamond Lumber outlet.

Lucas says the property has been vacant for about 18 months.
