Jaremko Nissan Saab sets expansion, remodel

DealershipÂ’s two projects in Spokane Valley expected to cost about $1.7 million

Jaremko Nissan Saab, of Spokane Valley, plans to build a new structure and remodel its two current buildings to give the dealership more space and an updated look, says General Manager Greg Loberg.

Jaremko has contracted with Garco Construction Inc., of Spokane, to erect a 6,600-square-foot building at the northeast corner of Sprague Avenue and Thierman Street in Spokane Valley. That $800,000 structure will house the dealerships Saab operation and be built on the west end of the dealerships current property, Loberg says.

The dealership also plans a $900,000 remodel of its two 3,300-square-foot buildings, which sit side by side at 6901 E. Sprague and house both its Saab and Nissan dealerships now. Those structures, built in the 1950s and 1970s, respectively, will be stripped down and combined into one space that will house the Nissan dealership, Loberg says.

The Saab building is expected to start going up by the end of June and be completed by fall, and the Nissan project will be done next spring, Loberg says.

The dealerships expansion project will make room for the two automakers growing product lines. Both Saab and Nissan have added new models this year and, together, plan to introduce five new models by next summer, Loberg says.

We needed more room, he says. Were getting so many vehicles now, we dont have any place to put them.

The projects also will give Jaremko a more modern, open look and one thats consistent with other Saab and Nissan dealerships, Loberg says.

Both Saab and Nissan are looking for all of their dealers to upgrade facilities, he says.

The automakers dont mandate the renovation projects, but provide incentives to dealerships that complete them, he says. That, and low interest rates, made it a good time to expand and remodel the dealership, Loberg says.

The automakers have their own architects, but Jason Burns, of Garco, will aid in the design of the renovations, he says.

Bank of America has provided financing for the project, Loberg says.
