Spokane Coeur d'Alene Living magazine staff keeps publishing despite uncertainty

Late owners' assets are being reviewed by courts, source says

The staff of Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living magazine for now is continuing to produce the monthly magazine while the late owners’ assets are being reviewed by attorneys, says interim publisher Stephanie Regalado.

Vince Bozzi, former publisher of the magazine who owned it through Northwest Best Direct Inc. with his late ex-wife, Emily, died Jan. 6 after a battle with COVID-19. Emily had died of virus about one month earlier.

Regalado says Bozzi didn’t leave a will for his personal belongings or a succession plan for his business assets. The editor of the magazine at one time, Regalado says she was asked by Bozzi’s surviving sisters to return to the business just before he died.

Vince and Emily Bozzi are survived by their 30-year-old son, Jordan Bozzi, whom Regalado speculates likely is to be the heir to all company holdings. The Journal was unsuccessful in its attempts to reach Jordan Bozzi.

Regalado says all bank accounts for Vince Bozzi’s business interests were in his name and were immediately frozen upon his death. Bozzi’s assets are now in the hands of attorneys through the process of probate, she says.

Eight company employees have been working without pay since Vince Bozzi’s death, says Regalado.

The company has published issues for January and February and is currently working on its March issue, Regalado says.

“I don’t know that we’ll be able to last longer than mid-February without paying this team,” Regalado says.
