Naccaratos start work on Cedar Canyon Villas

116-unit apartment project on South Hill is expected to be completed next spring

February 26, 1997
Linn Parish

Developers of the Cedar Canyon Village shopping center on Spokanes South Hill have started construction of a 116-unit apartment complex, called Cedar Canyon Villas, just east of the big shopping center along 57th Avenue.

Rich Naccarato, who with his family formed Cedar Canyon Villas (Apts. No. 104) LLC to develop and build the apartment complex, says the project is expected to be completed next spring, and he hopes to begin renting out units next May or June.

The project will include eight two-story apartment buildingswith between eight and 18 apartment units eachand three four-unit structures, Naccarato says. It also will have a small rental office and an outdoor swimming pool.

Spokane County building permits list estimates of the projects total value at about $5.5 million.

Glen A. Cloninger & Associates, of Spokane, designed the project. Naccarato says Cedar Canyon Villas will be similar in design to other apartment complexes he and his family have developed in the Spokane area, such as Cedar Creek Village, on Spokanes North Side.

Naccarato and his family also have formed Cedar Canyon Villas (Condo No. 34) LLC to build a planned 34-unit condominium complex just south of both the retail center and the apartment development. It plans to move forward next spring with construction of that project, which is expected to include 17 duplex buildings.

The retail center, which includes a total of 95,000 square feet of floor space and is located at the southeast corner of 57th Avenue and Regal Street, opened this spring. It also was developed by a limited-liability company founded by Naccarato and his family.

The Naccaratos also own and operate Cedar Builders Inc., a development and general contracting company here, and have developed several other apartment complexes in the Spokane area.
