Bank of America's top Spokane executive to retire

Walsdorf plans to end 40-year career with bank on Aug. 2

Kurt Walsdorf, Bank of America's market president for the bank's Spokane-Boise region, plans to step down on Friday, Aug. 2.

Kurt Walsdorf plans to retire as Bank of America Corp.'s Spokane/Boise market president. 

Having worked for B of A for just over 40 years, Walsdorf is scheduled to work his last day with the bank this Friday, Aug. 2. 

During his tenure with the bank, Walsdorf has served on the boards of numerous nonprofits. He has been on the board of regents for Gonzaga University, the board of directors for Pacific Coast Banking School, and is former trustee and treasurer of Greater Spokane Incorporated.

According to the Journal's most recent Banks List, B of A operates seven branches in the Spokane-Coeur d'Alene area, with its main branch in the the Bank of America Financial Center, at 601 W. Riverside. As of year-end 2023, the company had total deposits of $3.89 billion in Spokane and Kootenai counties, ranking it as the second largest bank in the market.
