A new micro-hospital is expected to open in Post Falls this month.

Post Falls Hospital LLC, which will do business as Post Falls ER & Hospital, is a physician-owned and -operated affiliate of Nutex Health Inc. (NASDAQ: NUTX), a for-profit, publicly-traded health care company based in Houston, Texas.

Thirteen emergency-room physicians are opening the Post Falls facility, located at 497 S. Beck Road, according to a press release from the hospital. Fourteen physicians and 50 total staff will be employed at the hospital.

“Our entire team is local and has worked in this area for years, creating an extensive network of physician groups and hospital systems on both sides of the Idaho/Washington line,” says Dr. McLane Simpson, chief medical director at Post Falls ER & Hospital in the release.

The 21,000-square-foot facility will include five inpatient beds and 12 emergency-room beds, according to Amy Bartoo, business development manager at the hospital. It will also have one trauma-capable room, according to a building permit on file with the city of Post Falls.

Construction of the building is valued at $11 million, the permit shows.

Young Construction Group of Idaho Inc. is listed as the project’s contractor.

Post Falls ER & Hospital will offer ambulance services through a partnership with Kootenai County Emergency Medical Services and American Medical Response Inc., emergency and trauma care, cardiology care, overnight inpatient care, pediatric care, both inpatient and outpatient imaging and laboratory services, and more.

“We are equipped to provide high-quality emergency services to our community,” says Kelly Fobia, chief nursing officer at the hospital.

The facility will be open around the clock.

Companywide, Nutex Health reported total revenue of $143.5 million for the first half of 2024, up from $115.3 million in the first half of 2023.

The company is made up of two divisions: a hospital division and a population health division.

The hospital division currently owns over 20 health care facilities in nine different states. It reported operating income of $33.3 million through the first two quarters of 2024, up from $13.9 million during the same period in 2023.

Nutex Health had over 80,000 visits across its hospitals through the first half of this year.

The company has 1,500 employees nationwide and is partnered with over 800 physicians.
