Raising Cane’s is opening a restaurant at 201 W. Neider, just east of U.S. Route 95 in Coeur d’Alene, according to a representative of the Plano, Texas-based restaurant chain.

Construction on the 2,800-square-foot building began in August and is expected to wrap up this winter. Georgetown, Texas-based Embree Construction Group Inc. is the contractor for the project.

Raising Cane’s also plans to continue its expansion in Idaho with the expected opening of a Chubbuck, Idaho, restaurant in 2026, the representative says.

Across the Washington-Idaho state border, Raising Cane’s previously opened a restaurant in September at 9252 N. Newport Highway, in North Spokane.

“Coeur d’Alene is a key part of Raising Cane’s broader Spokane growth strategy, allowing us to better serve communities on the Idaho side of the market,” a Raising Cane's representative says in an emailed statement to the Journal. “Our location along U.S. Route 95 places Raising Cane’s in a corridor locals already travel for their everyday needs, making it a convenient and natural fit for the area.”

Known best for its chicken fingers, the fast-food restaurant chain was founded by Todd Graves in 1994 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and now has over 950 locations.
