Recipients to be recognized at organization's annual meeting this month

February 5, 2025
Journal of Business Staff

Downtown Spokane Partnership has announced the winners of its third annual Best in BID Awards.

As determined by thousands of voters, the honorees include:

  • Best new business in 2024: Press Pickleball Club
  • Best local collaboration: Heritage Bar & Kitchen/Whistle Punk Brewing
  • Most inspirational business owner: Lydia Cowles, Twenty-Seventh Heaven
  • Best place for wellness and relaxation: Anam Cara Healing Center
  • Best social media presence: RenCorpRealty
  • Best place for a quick lunch break: Soulful Soups & Spirits
  • Best locally-owned fashion spot: Garland Resale Boutique
  • Best spot for a study session or work meeting: Indaba Coffee
  • Best place for a first date: Wooden City Spokane
  • Best place to take your out-of-town guests: Numerica SkyRide

The awards will be presented at DSP’s annual meeting on Feb. 20.

The Business Improvement District, or BID, is an 80-block area in the city’s core in which business and property owners pool funds through the DSP, which in turn provides the district with cleaning and safety services, event and marketing support, and other supplemental services.

The BID boundaries are along Cataldo Avenue to the north and the railroad viaduct to the south, with the eastern and western borders running along Division Street and Walnut Street, respectively.

The DSP also has a supplemental contract with the city of Spokane that has extended cleaning services south of the railroad viaduct to Third Avenue, between Walnut Street and Bernard Street. That contract is set to expire this month, according to the DSP website.
