Spokane International Airport (GEG) will close its primary runway for routine maintenance on Monday, May 19 and Tuesday, May 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the closures, flights will utilize the secondary, east-to-west oriented runway, resulting in a temporary increase in aircraft traffic over South Hill neighborhoods.
The temporary closures will allow crews to perform routine airfield maintenance to maintain Federal Aviation Administration compliance. The updates are not expected to impact commercial or cargo air service, or passenger boarding operations.
Spokane International Airport is coming off a record-breaking 2024, during which it served over 4.2 million passengers and handled over 67,000 tons of cargo.
The airport is served by eight major airlines and three cargo carriers.
