Dr. Nathan Gay has joined Cancer Care Northwest in Spokane as an oncologist and hematologist. Gay previously worked at Kootenai Clinic, in Post Falls.

Spokane-based ALSC Architects PS has promoted Andrew Leeper to associate principal. Leeper most recently worked as an associate for the firm.

Gestalt Diagnostics, a pathology-tech company based in Spokane, has hired Dr. Renuka Kulkarni as chief medical officer. Before joining Gestalt, Kulkarni contributed to the development of digital pathology programs at a leading full-service reference laboratory.

Cynthia Dold has joined Kaiser Permanente as president of the organization’s Washington state market. Dold previously served as chief operating officer and associate vice president of medical affairs at the University of Washington Medicine Hospitals & Clinics.

Spokane-based Inland Northwest Land Conservancy has hired Maria Vandervert as director of communications and engagement. Vandervert previously served as director of strategic communications at Greater Spokane Incorporated.

Bouten Construction Co. has expanded its senior leadership team by promoting two employees. Angela Madison has been promoted to senior project engineer. Madison previously worked as a project engineer. Jeremy Stavig has been promoted to project manager. Stavig previously worked as senior project engineer.

Spokane-based ALSC Architects PS has promoted five employees within its leadership team. Aaron Blackmer has been promoted to director of marketing. Blackmer previously worked as marketing manager. Ryan Palmquist, Jeff Slichter, Jacob Simonson, and Todd Keller were promoted to associates. Palmquist previously served as senior lead designer, graphic illustrator, and conceptual visionary. Slichter, Simonson, and Keller each previously worked as project architects and project managers.

Hilary Whittington has been named chief executive officer of MultiCare’s Pulse Heart Institute. Whittington previously served as chief financial officer and was interim president for the facility.

Coffman Engineers’ Spokane office has hired two new employees. Ashley Fenton joined as project coordinator for the firm’s civil engineering department. Fenton previously worked as project coordinator at DCI Engineers. Denny Pefley joined as an electrical engineer. Pefley recently graduated from Montana State University where he worked as an undergraduate research assistant in preliminary design.

Quality Inn Oakwood has appointed Justin Kent to general manager. Kent previously managed Comfort Inn & Suites & Mainstay Suites, in Coeur d’Alene.

YMCA of the Inland Northwest has hired Monica Branson as senior human resources director. Branson previously served as vice president of human resources at Heritage Health, in Coeur d’Alene.


Jed Dixon has joined Deer Park-based Knight Wall Systems as an estimator. Dixon previously produced construction drawings at Weekend Woodworks Co.  

Awards & Designations

The Washington State Department of Commerce has issued the Idaho Central Spokane Valley Performing Arts Center $2.07 million in Youth Recreational Facilities and Building for the Arts grants.

Dotty Johnson, of Bouten Construction Co., has been elected to serve as Pacific Northwest regional director for the National Association of Women in Construction.

Inland Northwest Wildlife Council will receive the Tom McTevia Memorial Award, presented by Disability Action Center Northwest. The wildlife council will be recognized for its work in providing accessible recreation opportunities for sportspeople with visual and mobility impairments.
