Wienerschnitzel plans to open four new locations in Spokane.

According to a press release, franchisee Del Bufalo is introducing four locations to the greater Spokane area after establishing two locations in Boise and Nampa, Idaho.

“The Wienerschnitzel brand has been an incredible business to grow with over the past few years,” Bufalo says. “Expanding into Spokane is the natural next step, and I’m excited to introduce even more communities to our unique menu and guest experience.”

Spokane currently has one Wienerschnitzel location, at 10220 North Newport Highway, which opened in February 2024, by franchisee Brian Harshbarger. The fast-food joint has become a popular North Spokane drive-through.

Founded in 1961 by John Galardi,  Wienerschnitzel opened its first location in Los Angeles. The franchise currently has more than 300 locations across the country, serving its signature chili dogs in 13 states, according to the press release. Fifty stores  are in various stages of development.

Wienerschnitzel serves a variety of hot dogs, as well as burgers and sandwiches. Customers can choose from various  toppings, including chili and cheese. Tastee-Freez soft serve ice cream-based desserts are available, as well.

The franchise expansion is part of an effort to introduce Wienerschnitzel to new territories, the press release states. Spokane is expected to be a “high-growth market” for the franchise’s development.

Likewise, a three-location deal has been signed in southwestern Washington, but the exact areas have not been announced. One of the three locations will be “non-traditional,” located inside a Walmart store. It is unknown whether any of the incoming Spokane locations will be non-traditional.

According to a representative of Wienerschnitzel, more information will be released as the new locations develop.
