Lone Wolf Distributors acquired by Texas group

Glock-accessory maker is based in Priest River

July 2, 2020

A Priest River, Idaho, manufacturer and distributor of aftermarket parts and accessories for Glock brand firearms has been bought by an out-of-state company.

Lone Wolf Distributors Inc. was acquired on May 22 by Jersey Village, Texas-based Vigilant Gear Holdings LLC for an undisclosed amount, according to a filing on the proprietary market data software subscription platform PitchBook.

Lone Wolf couldn’t be reached immediately for comment.

The company is headquartered at 106 Shannon Lane, in Priest River.

Founded in 1998 by CEO J.R. Shepard Jr., Lone Wolf’s products include grip enhancers, holsters, and barrel accessories for Glock firearms, according to the company’s website.

Glock semi-automatic pistols are polymer-framed, short recoil-operated firearms produced by Austrian manufacturer Glock Ges.m.b.H. Glock pistols are popular among law enforcement agencies. As reported by ABC News, Glock claims it has contracts to provide duty weapons to about 65% of law enforcement agencies at all levels.

According to Lone Wolf’s website, its in-house engineers use computer-aided design and computer numerical control machines in manufacturing its products.

Vigilant Gear sells survivalist and escape gear, such as lock picks, knives, and fire-starting tools. A representative at that company couldn’t be reached for comment before the Journal went to press.
