Jubilant HollisterStier is planning to expand with the addition of a $18.5 million structure directly north of its existing campus.
| Karina EliasSpokane-based pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging company Jubilant HollisterStier LLC plans to expand its campus footprint with the addition of a new $18.5 million building to relocate the company’s allergens processing business unit, says Jennifer Beeler, director of marketing for HollisterStier Allergy.
The proposed two-story structure is planned on two parcels of land totaling nearly an acre in size, at 2813 and 2835 E. Gordon, which Beeler says is just north of the existing Jubilant HollisterStier campus, in Spokane's Bemiss neighborhood, at 3525 N. Regal.
The proposed development is the first part of a multiphase expansion of the company’s existing allergy manufacturing facility, Beeler emphasizes.
“At some point, this will all essentially be part of the main campus,” Beeler says. “It will not be a separate standalone facility or area; it will be an expansion of the JHS campus we currently have.”
The two parcels of land for the project were purchased in October for $650,000 by Jubilant HollisterStier, Spokane County tax records show.
Spokane Valley-based Lydig Construction Inc. is the contractor. An architect has not yet been determined, Beeler says.
The proposed new structure will house HollisterStier Allergy’s raw materials, compounding functions, biological source materials storage, and research and development laboratory space, according to a predevelopment application for the project. The facility also will include cleanroom spaces, mechanical support spaces, offices, and acetone and solvent storage areas.
HollisterStier Allergy was founded in 1921 in Spokane by Guy Hollister and Dr. Robert Stier with a focus on relieving allergy sufferers of their symptoms. Jubilant HollisterStier, the contract manufacturer of injectable products, was founded in 1999. The two are separate business units within Jubilant HollisterStier LLC, a subsidiary of India-based Jubilant Pharmova Limited.
Starting in 2021, Jubilant HollisterStier embarked on a multiphase $285 million expansion of its contract manufacturing injectable product lines. In 2024, the company opened its third sterile finish manufacturing line. Valued at $92 million, the 50,000-square-foot expansion includes a high-speed commercial finish line capable of delivering 400 vials per minute and increasing production capacity by 55 million units annually.
A second phase of expansion is already underway and is expected to be completed in mid-2026. As envisioned, the 160,000-square-foot expansion includes a fourth line at the manufacturing plant, which will mirror the capabilities of the third line, including advanced isolator technology and high-speed sterile fill-finish capacity.
As of Dec. 12, Jubilant HollisterStier had just over 1,100 full-time employees, according to the Journal's latest Spokane County's Largest Employers list.
