Tractor Beverage raises $18.5 million in VC capital

North Idaho company distributes organic drinks exclusively to restaurants

May 7, 2020

A specialty soda company based in Dalton Gardens has raised $18.5 million in venture capital funding.

According to proprietary market data software subscription platform PitchBook, Tractor Beverages Inc. raised the funding as a combination of equity and debt that could be converted into shares in the company from undisclosed investors on April 8.

A representative of Tractor declines to comment.

The company is headquartered at 147 E. Aqua Circle, in Dalton Gardens, just north of Coeur d’Alene. Founder Travis Potter started the company in 2014.

According to PitchBook, New York-based venture capital and private equity firm AF Ventures, which does business as AccelFoods, is an active investor.

Tractor makes 19 organic, non-GMO, concentrated beverages, including teas and lemonade, as well as soda flavors such as cola, root beer, mandarin cardamom, and blackberry. According to Tractor’s website, the company provides beverages to restaurants exclusively in concentrate form because it produces less waste and requires less fuel to transport.

“It also keeps our drinks almost exclusively connected to the dining experience, which is our sweet spot,” a statement on company’s website reads.

Tractor’s drinks are available only through partner restaurants and other venues. In Spokane, Tractor Beverages are available at the Cosmic Cowboy Grill restaurant, at River Park Square.
