Mainstream Electric Inc., an electric, heating, cooling, and plumbing company, has found a new home in Spokane Valley.

The company, located in Post Falls for now, had outgrown its space, says Todd Damschen, who co-owns the business with his wife, Elaine.

“We’ve been growing like crazy,” he says. “All the offices were full. … There was no storage space, and we had moved our training facility out into the warehouse.”

The newly acquired, three-building complex, totaling 16,700 square feet, is located at 12822 E. Indiana and is nearly five times the size of its former 3,400-square-foot facility at 890 N. Innovation Way, in Post Falls. The company’s main building in Spokane Valley is about 12,000 square feet, Damschen says.

“We needed a real warehouse. We needed more office space for staff members,” he says. “We have more technicians than ever too, so we needed more space for all of our vehicles.”

He says the new space creates more opportunity for growth and is in a prime location to help the company serve its customers with easy access to the freeway. It also has a larger parking lot.

Elaine Damschen says Mainstream Electric currently is in the process of moving to the new building. Todd Damschen adds they expect to have everything moved and fully operational by the new year.

The company is expected to reach an annual revenue of about $6.2 million in 2019, says Elaine Damschen, a 10% growth over 2018. From 2015 to 2018, the company experienced 94% growth, she says, and the company is on track to meet that same growth for the three years increment between 2016 to 2019. 

Overall, she says the company expects up to 20% growth each year. 

Earlier this year, Inc. magazine ranked Mainstream at No. 3680 on its Inc. 5,000 Fastest Growing Private Companies list.  

The couple purchased the 2.4-acre property under the holding company 12822 Indiana LLC in late November for $1.3 million, according to Spokane County Assessor’s records.

Mainstream Electric was founded in 2000 and currently has 42 employees, he says. Damschen expects to bring on more employees next year to fill heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technician and installation positions, as well as journeyman electrician and plumber positions, though he’s uncertain exactly how many.

He adds that they also plan for Mainstream Electric to bring on more apprentices next year as well.
