Liberty Lake Coworking to open early next year

Space meant to fill gap in city's flex office market

A new coworking space is coming to Liberty Lake early next year, says Ann Long, co-owner of the business that will operate the facility.

Liberty Lake Coworking LLC plans to open Jan. 2 at 23505 E. Appleway, in space previously occupied by software development company Gravity Jack, which moved to downtown Spokane in mid-2018.

Ann Long, who co-owns the company with husband Stephen Long, says the 4,600-square-foot space will have 11 private offices, six semi-private spaces, and open table space that members can use.

Long says she and her husband decided to open the space in Liberty Lake because they saw a lack of similar spaces in the immediate area.

The new space is intended to fill that gap and create a place where freelancers, remote workers, and entrepreneurs can connect and hash out ideas without having to go to downtown Spokane.

“I’ve been in sales for many years,” she says. “I know what it’s like to be a salesperson, disconnected from headquarters. You feel like you’re on an island by yourself.”

The facility will have two conference rooms that can seat eight and 12 people, respectively, two phone booths for private calls, two semi-private meeting booths, a podcast and media room, access to high-speed fiber internet, and free parking, Long says.

The conference rooms and media room will be reservable, and full-time members will have monthly credits they can use to reserve the spaces, she adds. Once credits for the month have been used up, members will pay a reduced rate anytime they wish to rent either space, she says. The reservable resource rooms are also available for nonmembers to rent, she adds.

Members can also use the space as a virtual office, Long says.

Membership rates range from $75 per month for the flex space to $1,300 for a team suite. Flex space will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but those who rent office space will have 24/7 access, Long says.

The space is currently undergoing renovations by the contracting arm of FDS Realty, Long says.

Long says the space also will be available to rent as event space after 5:30 p.m. daily, and Liberty Lake Coworking will host monthly seminars and business-related speakers for members.

Long and her husband are currently the only two employees of Liberty Lake Coworking.

The company is currently accepting deposits for the office spaces, Long says. The company is set to have a grand opening 3 p.m. Jan. 15.
