Summit Cancer Centers to open new office in Sandpoint

Practice will offer access to oncology clinical trials

September 26, 2019

Summit Cancer Centers plans to open another of its cancer clinics—this one to be located in Sandpoint—and begin seeing clients on Oct. 1.

The cancer center will be located at 414 Church, suite 306, of the Sandpoint Center.

“Our goal is to advance cancer care in northern Idaho to a new level, providing exceptional physicians and state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment services,” Dr. Arvind Chaudry, a medical oncologist and principal with Summit, says in a press release.

The clinic will offer computerized tomography and PET/CT imaging and access to oncology clinical trials.

Summit business development officer John Driscoll says the cancer center will add additional services over time.

“Summit intends to provide immunotherapy, oral and IV chemotherapy, and advanced imaging,” Driscoll says.

In addition to physician services, all Summit clinics provide patient assistance programs, and accept all insurance plans available in the area.

Chaudhry asserts, “We strongly believe the patients in Idaho need a choice. Currently, cancer patients have few options for quality care without traveling long distances.”

Summit operates cancer centers at 6001 N. Mayfair, on Spokane’s North Side; at 13424 E. Mission, in Spokane Valley; and at 1641 E. Polston, in Post Falls. Summit also operates clinics in Montana and Oregon, according to the company’s website.

Summit also provides radiation therapy services in partnership with the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Radiation Oncology Center, in Lewiston, Idaho.
