Family Resource Home Care acquires Cascade In-Home Care

Liberty Lake company plans further growth during next five years

January 31, 2019

Liberty Lake-based Family Resource Home Care has acquired Arlington, Wash.-based Cascade In-Home Care.

Originally known as Family Home Care LLC, the company changed its name after merging with Seattle-based Family Resource Home Care last November.

Family Resource Home Care CEO Jeff Wiberg says this latest transaction, which was completed Dec. 24, is part of the company’s strategic plan for ongoing expansion.

“Over the next five years, we plan to grow and expand our business through strategic acquisitions of existing home care businesses that align with our business model and values,” he says. “Along the way, we will be creating jobs within each new market and seeking the best talent (to) enable us to provide the highest quality of care.”

Wiberg declined to disclose any terms of the transaction, although he did say Family Resource Home Care anticipates the acquisition could bring in up to $5 million in additional annual revenue.

Following the transaction, Family Resource now has more than 850 employees in nine offices across Washington and Idaho and serves more than 1,000 clients and their families, Wiberg says.

“We’ve added Cascade In-Home Care’s Arlington office and 120 of their employees,” he says.

Cascade In-Home Care has served King, Snohomish, Skagit, and Island counties since its founding in 2010. The company previously was owned by Jon and Linda Senn.

Wiberg says he has known Linda Senn for several years, having served with her on the Washington Home Care Association board.

“Linda approached us about a possible acquisition after hearing about our recent merger and desire to keep expanding,” he says. “We’d originally planned to add more out-of-state locations, but we’re happy to be adding Cascade, as it’s such a quality agency that gives us a foothold in a market we weren’t already in.”

Senn plans to remain with the company in both accounting and quality assurance, and long-time Cascade administrator Caroleen Chiorah also will stay on as regional manager.

“It was very important to us that we sell to a company who will treat both our employees and clients with the respect they deserve and whose focus is on quality rather than quantity,” says Senn.

Family Resource Home Care is the largest independent provider of home care services based in the Pacific Northwest and one of the largest in the U.S.

The company provides home care services that include personal care, such as bathing, dressing, help with medications, meal planning and preparation, light housekeeping, and companion care. It also provides care for clients facing dementia and Alzheimer’s disease as well as end-of-life, transitional, and respite care.
