New owner reopens hotel as La Quinta

Property north of Spokane underwent big renovation

August 27, 2015

Malbco Holdings LLC, a Spokane-based real estate investment company that buys and sells office buildings and hotels, has reopened a hotel building along Newport Highway as La Quinta Inn & Suites-Spokane North.

Located at 9601 N. Newport Highway, the three-story hotel built in 1996 previously operated as a Ramada Inn owned by Ravishi Hospitality ll LLC, of Spokane. The hotel had been closed for more than a year before its purchase by Malbco Holdings.

Hospitality Associates Inc., of Spokane, is managing the property.  According to the company’s senior vice president, Jackie Neves, the company is the largest franchisee for La Quinta, managing a total of 24 hotels in six Western states and Alaska.  “We’re excited to be back in north Spokane,” says Neves.

She says the 43,000-square-foot hotel underwent a total renovation over the course of five months. “This was a complete remodel; everything is brand new.”

JD Nelson LLC, of Spokane, was the contractor on the project. Hospitality Associates declines to disclose the cost of the remodel.

The hotel features 76 guest rooms, including 15 executive suites, as well as a business center, a fitness center, and an indoor pool and spa with outdoor patio. It offers a complimentary breakfast, as well as high-speed Internet access.

La Quinta Inn & Suites-Spokane North is located near a number of restaurants, as well as being close to area attractions such as Wandermere Golf Course, the popular Green Bluff small-agribusiness area, Wonderland Family Fun Center, and Mt. Spokane Ski & Snowboard Park.
