Inland Industrial & Rigging closes, files for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection

October 10, 2013
Mike McLean

Inland Industrial & Rigging Inc., a Spokane Valley niche contractor that had reported strong revenue growth two years ago, has closed up shop and filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court here for voluntary Chapter 7 liquidation, court records for the still-active proceedings show.

There was no answer at the company's listed phone number earlier this week.

Dan O'Rourke, of Southwell & O'Rourke PS, who's listed as the attorney representing the Inland Industrial, and trustee Anthony E. Grabicki, of Randle & Danskin PS, couldn't be reached for comment.

In court documents filed in June, the company claimed assets of $702,000 and liabilities of $1.6 million, with Sterling Bank holding $714,000 in secured claims. Sterling Bank also holds an unsecured claim for $153,100.

Unsecured claims also include federal taxes of $245,700 owed to the Internal Revenue Service, sales taxes totaling $15,400 owed to the Washington state Department of Revenue, and taxes totaling $7,800 owed to Washington state Department of Employment Security.

Other creditors with unsecure claims ranging up to $9,700 include Big Sky Industrial, CDA Metals, and Principle Steel Group Inc.
