Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce will hold a business connections breakfast on Friday, June 21, at 7 a.m., at Mirabeau Park Hotel & Convention Center, 1100 N. Sullivan. The cost is $25 for members and $35 for others. To register, go to spokanevalleychamber.org.

The Spokane Home Builders Association will hold a class about changes to the 2012 International Residential Code and Washington state Energy Code on Wednesday, June 26, from 7:45 a.m. to noon, at the Spokane Home Builders Association boardroom, 5813 E. The Washington Policy Center, an independent think tank that promotes sound public policy based on free-market solutions, will hold its Annual Eastern Washington Health Care Lunch, Wednesday, June 26, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at the Davenport Hotel, 10 S. Post. The speakers will be Avik Roy, senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, writer for Forbes, and former health care policy adviser to Mitt Romney; Dr. Karen Summar, health care adviser to the U.S. House of Representatives Majority Conference; and Washington state Sen. Northwest Woman magazine will hold its free Spokane and North Idaho Power Woman Monthly Networking Event on Thursday, June 27, from 5 to 8 p.m., at The Roadhouse, 20 N. Raymond, in Spokane Valley. For information, email [email protected].

The Inland Northwest chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners will hold its July chapter meeting on Thursday, July 11, at 5 p.m., at the Lincoln Center, 1316 N. Lincoln. The topic will be what employers need to know pre-employment. The cost is $34 for members and $49 for others before noon Tuesday, July 9, and $39 for members and $54 for others thereafter. Greater Spokane Incorporated will hold Good Morning Greater Spokane: The Great Outdoors on Friday, July 12, at 7 a.m., at Avista Stadium, 602 N. Havana. Workshops & Seminars

Tincan, the nonprofit organization that uses information technology and interactive media for education and community development, will offer the following free technology training workshops: Painting with Gimp, Monday, June 24, from 1 to 2 p.m.; Basic Windows 7, Tuesday, June 25, from 1 to 2 p.m., and Growing Your Business with Websites, from 3 to 4 p.m.; Internet Basics, Friday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to noon, and Etsy, from 2 to 3 p.m. Workshops will be held at 1317 W. The Washington State Small Business Development Center will hold a Ready, Set Export! introductory workshop on Tuesday, June 25, from 6 to 9 p.m., and a two-day Ready, Set Export! seminar on Thursdays, July 11 and July 18. Both events will be held at the WSBDC Export Readiness Center, 1235 N. Post. The cost is $25 for the workshop, and $99 for the two-day seminar. SCORE will offer the following training workshops: Quickbooks Financial Management, Wednesday, June 26, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; and How to Start a New Business, Wednesday, July 10, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The workshops will be held at the Spokane Regional Business Center, 801 W. Riverside. The cost for each of the workshops is $40 pre-registered, $50 at the door, and $15 for an additional person from the same company. Impact Washington will hold a Nuts and Bolts of Changing Your Business Culture workshop on Thursday, June 27, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Innovate Washington, 665 W. Visit Spokane, the Spokane Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau, will hold a Certified Tourism Ambassador Training class on Friday, June 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park, 303 W.
