Huckleberry Thicket plans to move store to Post Falls site

Bakery, gift shop will own building once occupied by A to Z Rentals outlet

May 9, 2013
Mike McLean

Huckleberry Thicket LLC, a Coeur d'Alene-based gift store and bakery, has bought the 3,400-square-foot former A to Z Rentals & Sales building at 3430 E. Seltice Way, in Post Falls, and plans to move there in coming months, says Marla Hedman, the store's owner.

The company manufactures huckleberry products and carries wildlife and huckleberry-related gifts, Hedman says. The new location also will feature the espresso and ice cream it currently sells.

Huckleberry Thicket currently is located in smaller quarters at the Silver Lake Mall, at 200 W. Hanley, in Coeur d'Alene.

The store has eight employees, and will remain at that staffing level for the near future, she says.

Commercial real estate agents Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of the Coeur d'Alene brokerage Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the real estate transaction.

Retail & Investment

Bella Cova Enterprises LLC, a new retail store and support center for new mothers, has leased 4,500 square feet of floor space in the former Caterina Winery location in the Broadview Dairy building, at 905 N. Washington. Erik Nelson, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., negotiated the lease.

9111 Division LLC, a Spokane Valley-based investment group, has bought for $2 million the three-building, 30,500-square-foot Country Homes Business Park, at the northwest corner of Country Homes Boulevard and Division Street. Cody George and Chad Carper, both of Kiemle & Hagood Co., handled the transaction.

Services

Gallagher Law Office, of Spokane, has leased 1,600 square feet of office space at 1821 W. Fifth and plans to move there from leased space at 505 W. Riverside. Erik Nelson, of Kiemle & Hagood Co., negotiated the lease.

Moon Security Service Inc., a Pasco, Wash.-based commercial and residential security services provider, has leased 1,900 square feet of office space at 1120 N. Mullan, and plans to move its Spokane operation there from leased space at 209 S. Washington. Carlos Herrera, of SDS Realty Inc., and Darren Slackman, of NAI Black, handled the transaction.

Open Arms PCC & Real Choices Clinic Inc., a pro-life nonprofit, has leased 4,500 square feet of space in the Maple Tree Professional Center, at 1800 N. Lincoln Way, in Coeur d'Alene, and plans to move there from leased space at 1111 W. Ironwood Drive. Craig Hunter and Rob Kannapien, both of Coldwell Banker Commercial Schneidmiller Realty, handled the transaction.
