The Wolff Co. plans $24.5 million apartment complex in Spokane Valley

Beach House apartments would include 216 units along Indiana extension

The Wolff Co., a Scottsdale Ariz.-based real estate investment firm with Spokane roots, plans to develop a $24.5 million, 216-unit apartment complex in Spokane Valley.

The complex, to be called Beach House Apartments, is to be located on 30 acres of vacant land, at 16621 E. Indiana Parkway, says Mike Turbak, senior permit specialist for the city of Spokane Valley. The project site is on the south side of Indiana Parkway, where the road was extended in a short couplet configuration last year to connect Indiana to the intersection of Mission Avenue and Flora Road.

Building permit applications under review by the city show the complex would have 10 three-story apartment buildings, Turbak says. Eight of the structures would have 24 living units, and two would have 12 units.

Inland Washington LLC, of Spokane Valley, is listed as the contractor on the project, Turbak says.

Executives of The Wolff Co. and at Inland Washington couldn't be reached for comment.

Turbak says the application is on track for the current construction season.

Each of the 24-unit buildings would range in total living space from 24,900 to 29,000 square feet, and the 12-unit buildings each would have 16,000 square feet of living space, Turbak says.

The complex also would include a 3,500-square-foot clubhouse and eight 1,600-square-foot garage structures, he says.

The Wolff Co., which had been a longtime Spokane concern and moved its headquarters to Scottsdale a decade ago, specializes in development and management of multifamily housing. The company has several holdings here, the newest of which is the 256-unit Pine Valley Ranch apartment complex at 3711 S. State Route 27, just south of Spokane Valley, which it developed in 2010. Inland Washington also was the contractor on that project.

Inland Washington, which also has several multifamily holdings, is developing three other apartment complexes here, including the 232-unit Palouse Family Apartments, the 150-unit Traditions at South Hill, and the 150-unit Traditions at Mill Road.
