Valley pool and spa retailer builds store, plans to relocate next spring

December 2, 2010
Mike McLean

Aqua Elite Pool & Spa Inc. says it's erecting a building in Spokane Valley and plans to move into it in the spring.

Michael Huey, who with his wife, Jessie, owns Aqua Elite, says the $400,000 building under construction at 9321 E. Sprague will accommodate the business's growth.

Aqua Elite will own the 3,200-square-foot, single-story structure, Huey says. It currently occupies 1,800 square feet of leased space at 101 N. University, about a block north of the University City Shopping Center.

Huey says he has hiredFarrell Construction, of Spokane, to erect the building. Simpson Engineers Inc., of Spokane, is the civil engineer,he says.

The five-year-old business has two employees in addition to the owners and plans to hire at least two more employees within a year, he says.

"We've really grown,"Huey says.

Aqua Elite specializes in sales, service, and installation of hot tubs, saunas, and custom in-ground swimming pools, Huey says. It also sells premium barbecues, stoves, fireplaces, outdoor kitchen equipment, and related accessories, he says.
