North Side spa retailer moves to larger space

Apollo to consolidate its two stores at Valley location

August 13, 2015

Apollo Spas, a Spokane-born hot tub and spa equipment manufacturer and retailer, is moving its former North Side operations to larger quarters near Interstate 90 this weekend and also plans to consolidate its longtime Spokane Valley operations there by early 2018, says Rob Anselmo, Apollo Spas’ controller.

Anselmo says the new Apollo Spas superstore will open Saturday, Aug. 15, at 11604 E. Indiana, in Spokane Valley.

He says Apollo Spas had outgrown the North Side location, at 7808 N. Division, and closed it on July 31 in anticipation of the move to the Indiana location, where it will occupy 15,000 square feet of space initially.

The superstore eventually will occupy the entire 38,000-square-foot facility when Apollo Spas moves its original Spokane Valley store there from 720 N. Fancher Road, where it occupies 13,700 square feet of space, Anselmo says.

Arctic Properties LLC, a real estate-holding affiliate of Apollo Spas, bought the former office, warehouse, and laboratory building along Indiana last month for $840,000, Spokane County Assessor’s records show.

The store sells Apollo and Arctic Spas brands of hot tubs and spa equipment.

Looking ahead, Apollo Spas will phase in a corporate name change to Arctic Spas, Anselmo says.

Meantime, Spokane developer Thomas Hamilton currently is renovating for multitenant use the North Side building that Apollos Spas has vacated.

Baker Construction & Development Inc., of Spokane, is the contractor on the North Division project.

Paul Riener, a project manager for Baker Construction, says the 8,100-square-foot structure is getting a facelift, and Hamilton is looking to secure up to four tenants for that building.
