Interstate Concrete wins $830,000 in repaving work in Dalton Gardens

March 25, 2010

Interstate Concrete & Asphalt Co., of Coeur d'Alene, has won two contracts, worth a combined about $830,000, to repave portions of Hanley Avenue in Dalton Gardens, Idaho.

The work constitutes the final two phases of a three-phase project to upgrade Hanley, just east of the Silver Lake Mall.

Dalton Gardens is a small city just north of Coeur d'Alene. The Idaho Transportation Department is administering the contracts, but the work is for the city of Dalton Gardens, says Leanna Deaton, Interstate's east region coordinator.

In one of the two projects, a $412,000 contract is to include excavating the road bed of Hanley between Davenport and 15th streets, adding fill material, and repaving the road, Deaton says.

In the other project, a $415,000 job that constitutes the final phase of work, Interstate will pave Hanley between Fourth Street and Government Way.

The work on both stretches of Hanley will be done at the same time, beginning June 21. The work is being timed to ensure that it doesn't conflict with the Coeur d'Alene Iron Man event or with local school schedules, Deaton says.

Last year, Interstate completed the $500,000 first phase of the three-phase project, which entailed constructing a roundabout at Fourth Street, which sits between the current two projects, Deaton says.
