Bouten wins expansion work in Pasco

May 20, 2010
Jeanne Gustafson

Spokane-based Bouten Construction Co. has been selected by the Pasco School District to construct a $726,500 addition to Pasco High School that will expand a locker room and add two classrooms.

Bouten will construct the 4,200-square-foot, single-story addition, which also will include a mechanical attic space, at the high school, which is located at 1108 N. 10th Ave., says Nick Gonzales, a project manager at Bouten's Richland, Wash., office.

About 2,300 square feet of the addition will be additional locker room space, including a trainer's office, a training room, and more bathrooms and showers, Gonzales says. The two new classrooms will be built adjacent to the locker room addition. The exterior walls will be constructed of concrete and structural steel, and four new doors will be added to connect the addition to the current locker room and to the main building.

Gonzales says the project is scheduled to begin in August, and will take about 120 working days to complete. The project was designed by the Pullman office of Design West Architects PA, he says. It's one of a number of capital projects within the school district there being funded by a 2006 school bond measure.
