Consolidated Supply to get bigger quarters

February 25, 2010

The Spokane Valley branch of Tigard, Ore.-based Consolidated Supply of Oregon will move soon to a new location that will give it space for a showroom and that will be closer in.

With its lease ending at its current facility, the plumbing and waterworks supply company's owners had considered buying or building a new location here, but because of the softness of the economy they opted to lease a 15,000-square-foot warehouse at 305 N. Lake, near Sprague Avenue and Fancher Road, says Tim Ryan, Consolidated Supply's branch manager here.

The branch currently is located at 17515 E. Appleway, in Spokane Valley, in a 9,000-square-foot warehouse. Ryan says that though the new location has a bigger warehouse, it has a somewhat smaller yard for storage of pipe.

Currently, Brown Contracting & Development Inc., of Spokane, is remodeling the space to include a showroom and will-call area, and the company expects to move there soon, Ryan says.

Consolidated Supply has 18 branches throughout the Northwest and in Hawaii, Ryan says. The Spokane branch has 10 employees, down from 16 about three years ago, but might hire a couple of additional employees this year, he says.
