R&R to add space on Florida, combine Hillyard operations

Heating, air-conditioning concern intends to vacate building on East Central

December 23, 2009
David Cole

The owner of R&R Heating & Air Conditioning Inc., of Spokane, says he plans to construct two buildings at the company's location at 5202 N. Florida, in the Hillyard area, which would give R&R five buildings there, and it will consolidate all of its operations there next fall.

Randy Hastings, R&R's owner, says the new buildings will include a warehouse with 5,000 to 6,000 square feet of floor space and a roughly 5,000-square-foot office building.

He hopes to start work on the project by March. He says he will serve as his own general contractor.

Other buildings the company currently occupies there include a 3,000-square-foot office building, a 6,000-square-foot shop, and a 3,000-square-foot storage building. He owns all three, and will own the two new structures, he says.

The company also occupies a 15,000-square-foot building several blocks north of there, at 4019 E. Central, that includes a warehouse, a training facility, some office space, and a showroom. Hastings says he owns that property as well and would like to lease the building out to another user after R&R consolidates.

He says the company is growing and that he wants to increase its efficiency by operating it from a single, expanded complex. Now is a good time to make that change, he says, because construction materials costs are low.

R&R, which employs about 50 people, provides heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation products and services to commercial and industrial customers, and also does sheet metal fabrication work.
