Shamrock Paving Inc., of Spokane, has won a $1.3 million contract for a city of Spokane project to rehabilitate a collection of North Side streets near Logan Elementary School.
Streets that are to be improved include Montgomery Avenue between Astor and Hamilton streets; Illinois Avenue between Dakota and Hamilton streets; Ermina Avenue between Astor and Columbus streets; Baldwin Avenue between Astor and Perry streets; and Addison, Standard, Dakota, and Cincinnati streets between Indiana and Montgomery avenues.
The work is to include a combination of grinding and overlaying the roadway with a layer of asphalt in some areas and what's called full-depth, curb-to-curb rehabilitation in others, says city spokeswoman Ann Deasy. The project will begin in mid-July and will be finished by early October, Deasy says.
