Retail strip planned on N. Division

February 26, 1997
Emily Brandler

D&S Properties LLC, of Spokane, plans to develop a retail strip center along Division Street, on the site of a former gas station just north of Global Billiard Supply, at a cost of more than $1.5 million.

D&S bought the property, located between Knox and Mansfield avenues, late last month from Seattle-based Gull Industries Inc., says Tim Sweet, co-owner of D&S. Sweet, who also co-owns Clearwater Summit Group Inc., a Spokane landscaping company, says the sale included the building, which is at 2121 N. Division, that houses Frontier West Family Restaurant & Bakery, just north of the gas station site. D&S Properties has taken over managing that building, he says. Clark Pacific Real Estate Co., of Spokane, handled the sale of the former gas station site.

D&S Properties plans to remove the remnants of the gas station and build a 6,000-square-foot retail center, Sweet says. The structure would include up to four spaces available for lease. The company hasnt secured any tenants yet, but hopes to lease out one 1,500-square-foot space to a drive-through fast-food restaurant or coffee shop, says Marshall Clark, owner of Clark Pacific Real Estate, which is marketing the planned spaces.

D&S hopes to start construction on the project in mid-June, and expects it to take about three months to complete.

Kofmehl Inc., of Spokane, will be the contractor, and Lindquist Architects, of Spokane, designed it.
