Georgia company acquires Standard Plumbing

Purchase of Valley company completed in first days of July

Spokane Valley-based Standard Plumbing Heating Control Corp., which does business as SPHControls, has been acquired by Automated Logic Contracting Services Inc., a building management company headquartered in Kennesaw, Georgia, according to an Automated Logic press release.

Wes Schmidt, owner and general manager of SPHControls, says in the release, “The acquisition strengthens and expands our building controls offering and allows us to offer new solutions and value-added services.”

SPHControls began operating in 1977 and has been a dealer for Automated Logic since 1990.

The company’s Spokane Valley operation occupies 4,300 square feet of manufacturing space on 1 acre of land at 10419 E. Trent, about midway between Argonne and Pines roads, in Spokane Valley.

SPHControls has two other locations, one in Wenatchee, Washington, another in Helena, Montana, according to its website.

Terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed.

Automated Logic develops and builds automation control systems. Its products and services are marketed as reducing energy consumption, improving indoor air quality, and lowering operating, maintenance, and utilities expenses.

The company is part of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida-based Carrier Global Corp., which manufactures and distributes heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning equipment, as well as fire and security systems.

Meredith Emmerich, Carrier’s North America commercial HVAC vice president, says the acquisition strengthens Carrier’s product and service offerings with a local presence and expertise of HVAC system controls and connected services.

“We look forward to the continued success of this team of professionals,” says Emmerich.

Automated Logic has over 35 corporate-owned branch locations and about 1,300 employees, according to its website.
