Spokane Valley-based EasyStreet Systems Inc. has been acquired by Digicomm International, an Englewood, Colorado-based telecommunications distributor and manufacturer.
EasyStreet, a manufacturer of proprietary, lightweight composite smart poles for installation in small cell networks, will complement Digicomm's smart city and telecom infrastructure offerings and help support wireless market expansion, says EasyStreet CEO Pete Chase.
"This is a perfect kind of marriage of the companies," says Chase. "Digicomm is a large distributor in the cable business ... and they're really not in wireless, which is our products. So everything's going to stay intact, and we'll just work together to combine our two products together for larger solutions."
Digicomm CEO Rob Donziger says in a press release that the acquisition will enable the company to meet a surging demand for intelligent infrastructure and support the delivery of comprehensive broadband, 5G, and smart infrastructure solutions to clients.
"Together, we see significant growth opportunities across the telecom, municipal, and commercial sectors," Donziger says. "We're committed to continuing our growth strategy and will actively seek further acquisitions that strengthen our position in the market and expand our solutions."
EasyStreet now will have the resources to grow its market to include installations in new real estate developments, where more home-based workers are contributing to a strong demand for access to broadband connections and Internet-of-Things technology.
"The time is right to get the capital and really grow the company," says Chase.
Chase, a Spokane entrepreneur best known as a co-founder of telecommunications equipment supplier Purcell Systems Inc., and Ken Harrison, EasyStreet's chief technology officer, co-founded EasyStreet in 2020. Harrison is a telecom industry veteran with over 40 years of experience, including 13 years as vice president of AT&T Mobility's West Region network service.
The Journal last reported on EasyStreet in January 2024, as the company was positioning itself for exponential growth with new applications for electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc.
EasyStreet will keep its branding and continue operating its facility at 6021 E. Mansfield, in Spokane Valley, Chase says, adding that his title and duties aren't changing.
The company currently has 10 employees.
"It probably will grow," says Chase of the Spokane Valley facility.
EasyStreet's composite poles are marketed as a sustainable alternative to traditional materials and contribute to reduced carbon emissions. The lightweight nature of the poles also allows for reduced installation costs, as previously reported in the Journal.
The smart poles are also capable of integrating an array of technologies, such as environmental sensors, traffic control, license plate recognition, security cameras, weather monitoring, and electric-vehicle charging, explains Chase.
Chase declines to disclose the terms of the transaction and EasyStreet's latest annual revenue, but notes that the company's revenue is poised to take off now with access to Digicomm's resources and capital.
Digicomm International was established in 1993 and has over 100 employees, according to the company's website. The broadband distributor and manufacturer serves customers around the world.
"We are excited to become part of the Digicomm family," says Chase. "This strategic partnership will enable us to accelerate growth and bring EasyStreet's solutions to new markets and customers globally."
