New carwashes are planned on Spokane’s North Side and in the Moran Prairie neighborhood, according to records filed with the city of Spokane.
For the North Side project, a pre-development application indicates North Carolina-based Surf Thru Inc., which does business as Surf Thru Express Car Wash, plans to construct a $1.9 million carwash at 3934 N. Division.
Wolfe Architectural Group PS, of Spokane, is designing the project, the pre-development application shows. No contractor is listed yet.
Preliminary plans show the project will include an automated drive-thru carwash with a detached pay station, a vacuum station, and site upgrades.
Surf Thru Express Car Wash markets itself as an eco-friendly carwash and has locations in Oregon, California, Nevada, Texas, and Arizona.
Spokane County Accessor’s records show prominent Spokane developer Harlan Douglass owns the 1.3-acre project site.
For the Moran Prairie neighborhood in south Spokane, a Mister Car Wash facility is planned at 4301 S. Regal, according to a building permit application under review by the city.
Tucson, Arizona-based A 23 Studios is listed in the permit information as the architect for the $775,000 project, and DCI Engineers, which has a Spokane office, is providing engineering services.
The summary of proposed work for the 6,500-square-foot Mister Car Wash facility includes construction of an automated carwash with vacuum stations and payment kiosks. Site work will include paving, landscaping, and stormwater improvements.
Douglass also owns the 2.8-acre site where the Mister Car Wash is planned, assessor’s records show.
