A new $1 million Burger King restaurant is planned in the Valley, while a former Burger King restaurant has been demolished to make room for a $1.6 million carwash, Spokane Valley preliminary planning records show.

Surf Thru Express Car Wash is planned at the site of the former Burger King, at 2120 N. Argonne Road.

The contractor for the carwash project is Meridian Construction Inc., of Spokane, and Wolfe Architecture Group PS, also of Spokane, designed it, planning records show.

Project representatives decline to comment on it.

According to planning records, the 5,400-square-foot carwash will include a pay station.

Surf Thru Car Wash is marketed on its corporate website as an eco-friendly carwash and has locations in Oregon, California, Nevada, Texas, and Arizona. Most are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day during spring and summer months and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. during fall and winter months, the website shows.

Spokane County Accessor’s records show Argonne Investments LLC purchased the 36,500-square-foot lot in September 2020 for $1.1 million.

Less than 2.5 miles southeast of the former Burger King site, a new Burger King restaurant is planned at 10818 E. Sprague, in the Dishman neighborhood.

Steven King, of Visalia, California-based Tricon Building Solutions Inc., is listed as the contractor on the project, and JMS Engineering Inc., also of Visalia, is designing it.

King declines to comment on the project.

The 3,000-square-foot building will be constructed about two blocks east of North University Road, and north of the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce. The project is owned by Love in an Elevator LLC, planning records show. 

According to the Burger King corporate web page, there are at least seven Burger King restaurant locations in the Spokane-Coeur d’Alene area.
