Coffman Engineers Inc. has hired Corey Johnson as a civil engineer in the firm's Spokane office. Johnson previously worked as a civil engineer at Coughlin Porter Linden, in Seattle.

ABC Supply Co., a Beloit, Wisconsin-based wholesale distributor of roofing and building supplies, has named Adam Sprague as the managing partner of its Spokane Valley location. Sprague previously was the manager of the Spokane operations.

Cyndi Donahue has been named the director of leadership training and development at the Gonzaga University School of Leadership Studies. Donahue is the founder of Amplifying Women's Voices and previously worked as community engagement director of Ignite Northwest.

STCU, of Liberty Lake, has hired Brad Ekstrom as home loan officer at its Hayden branch, from which he'll serve Kootenai and Bonner Counties. Ekstrom previously worked at American Financial Network, in Coeur d'Alene.

KXLY-TV has moved Derek Denis to co-anchor of the 4 News Now evening broadcasts. Denis previously worked as an anchor on KXLY's Good Morning Northwest program.

College Success Foundation-Spokane has promoted two people and hired five others. Shannon Demant, top left, has been moved to executive director. Demant previously worked as the organizations regional director. Dulce Rivera, top right, has been promoted to lead college and career coach at Garry Middle School, from a career coach position at the same school. From left to right, Raúl Sánchez has been hired as the college bound regional officer for northeast and north central Washington. Sánchez previously was with Whitworth University. Mayra Galvan-Frans was named school-based adviser at Lewis & Clark High School. Galvan-Frans previously worked at Denise Louie Education Center, in Seattle. Jennifer Harden is a new adviser at Ferris High School, having previously worked at the Spokane International Academy. Spencer Niederstadt has been hired as an adviser at North Central High School. Niederstadt worked at AmeriCorps previously. Emilio Ramos is a new college and career coach at Yasuhara Middle School. Ramos previously worked for the Kennewick, Washington, school district.

Associated Industries, of Spokane, has hired Ternisha Davis, left, as its finance and administration specialist. Davis previously worked as an administrative assistant at The Law Office of DC Cronin, in Spokane. Larry Tripp has joined Associated Industries as director of benefit services and trust administration. Tripp previously was a client services executive at Zenith American Solutions Inc., in Spokane.

Cancer Care Northwest has hired Nelbie Anne Duran as a nurse practitioner. Duran previously worked as an nurse practitioner in Texas.

The Spokane County Treasurer's Office has hired Hillary Pham as its intergovernmental affairs officer. A former U.S. Air Force captain, Pham previously served as resource management officer at Fairchild Air Force Base.


Awards & Designations

The Inland Northwest chapter of Associated General Contractors has been named the 2023 AGC Chapter of the Year. The award recognizes the chapter for outstanding programming and overall excellence. 


Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce has named the 2023 Manufacturing Excellence Awards winners: Wagstaff Inc., Manufacturer of the Year; ASC Machine Tools, for operational excellence; and CarbonQuest, for Innovation.
