Spokane-based Piskel Yahne Kovarik PLLC has hired Scott Morse and Bridgette Roll as associate attorneys. Morse practices in the areas of construction, real property, land disputes, commercial litigation, and business litigation. Roll's practice focuses on real estate and properly law, contract law, commercial litigation, and civil litigation. Both are graduates of the Gonzaga University School of Law.

The Coeur d'Alene-Spokane office of Evergreen Business Capital has hired Robin Amrine as its vice president and loan officer. Amrine previously worked at Banner Bank.

Banner Bank has promoted Mohamed Rashed from vice president and branch manager at Banner Bank's Spokane Division Street branch to senior vice president and community division manager serving the greater Spokane area. Rashed has more than 15 years of experience in branch management and financial advisory.

Visit Spokane, a marketing and management organization for Spokane County, has hired Stasha Irby as its regional director of sales. Irby previously was the destination services manager and sales director at the Little Rock, Arkansas, Convention and Visitors Bureau.


Awards & Designations

Credit Union Executives Society has named Carla Cicero, president and CEO of Numerica Credit Union, as 2023's Outstanding Chief Executive, an award that honors one chief executive from across the industry who has made outstanding contributions to strengthen credit unions.


Spokane-based brewery No-Li Brewhouse and Eastern Washington University have been awarded an international bronze brewing medal at the Asia International Beer Competition in Singapore—the first international brewing medal achieved through a collaboration between an American university or college and a brewery.


Believe in Me, a Spokane-based nonprofit that supports marginalized youth in the Pacific Northwest, has selected the following eight Spokane-based organizations for its 2024 Grant Awards: Teen & Kid Closet, Spokane Angels, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Inland Northwest, Embrace Washington, Spokane Area Youth for Christ, The Carl Maxey Center, College Success Foundation, Free Rein Therapeutic Riding, ParaSport Spokane.


Philanthropy

Spokane brewery No-Li Brewhouse has committed a total of $34,000 in direct donations to 25 community nonprofits, with Giving Back Spokane scheduled to receive the largest donation of $10,000 on Christmas Day.


Bank of America gave the Spokane-based nonprofit Women's & Children's Free Restaurant & Community Kitchen the Spokane Neighborhood Champion award for its work in advancing economic mobility and building up neighborhoods in the Spokane area.


Walmart Foundation has presented a $150,000 grant to community-driven nonprofit Re*Imagine Medical Lake to help alleviate damage caused by the Gray Fire, a wildfire that swept through the Medical Lake community in August of 2023 and destroyed about 240 homes.
