Wiley's Downtown Bistro owner to take over Prohibition GastroPub

Michael Wiley, owner and head chef of Wiley’s Downtown Bistro, at 115 N. Washington, will assume control over a second restaurant as the new owner of Prohibition Gastro Pub, at 1914 N. Monroe, effective Oct. 1.

Husband-and-wife team John and Jill Leonetti, who founded Prohibition Gastro Pub in 2015, have posted on the restaurant’s Facebook page that they plan to move to Phoenix for a career opportunity for Jill.

Wiley called it a “daunting” task trying to fill the Leonettis’ shoes while in the midst of a global pandemic.

“But it’s an opportunity to do even more for our community,” he says.

Of Wiley, the Leonettis’ Facebook post says, “We couldn’t have found a better person to write the next chapter of this building filled with memories and to continue to make his mark in Spokane food. We are certain with his attention to detail, fabulous customer rapport and creative mind that it is in good hands.”
