David Evans & Associates acquires Portland-area firm

Engineering consulting company has presence in Spokane, Coeur d'Alene

David Evans & Associates Inc., a Portland, Oregon-based engineering consulting firm with a presence in the Inland Northwest, has acquired electrical and systems engineering firm Elcon Associates Inc., which also had been based in the Portland area.

With the addition of Elcon’s three offices, located in Beaverton, Oregon, and Tukwila and Lynnwood, Washington, about 30 employees have joined David Evans' workforce, bringing the companywide staff total to about 1,500.

David Evans & Associates chairman and CEO Al Barkouli in a press release, “The acquisition of Elcon ... aligns with our strategic goal to bolster our presence in the Pacific Northwest and strengthen our expertise in the rapidly growing energy market."

Founded in 1976, David Evans & Associates provides design services for transportation, water, land, energy, and marine infrastructure.

The company has offices in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene, at 908 N. Howard and 663 W. Canfield, respectively.
