LaunchNW awards over $900K to rural communities

Grants intended to support high school education

LaunchNW, an initiative of Spokane-based Innovia Foundation, has awarded $920,000 in grants to support high school students postgraduation in rural communities across Eastern Washington.

“The grants that are awarded vary in amount and purpose,” says Ben Small, executive director of LaunchNW, in a press release. “But ultimately, they support the needs of rural communities in advancing the post-high school pursuits of their students."

The grants focus on building infrastructure and support for rural students to pursue post-high school education and their career of choice, the release states.

A partial list of grant recipients includes:

Reardan School District - $50,000

Lind Ritzville Cooperative Schools - $50,000

Clarkston School District - $50,000

Newport School District - $46,000

Nine Mile Falls - $10,000

Chewelah School District - $30,000

Riverside School District - $50,000

Washington State University - $50,000

Dayton School District - $50,000

Northport School District - $62,000

Republic School District - $50,000

Colville School District - $50,000

Mary Walker School District - $50,000
