Interior designers acquire Coyote Creek Cabinets

New owners plan to integrate cabinetry with existing design company

July 3, 2025

Two Spokane-based interior designers have acquired Coyote Creek Cabinets, of Spokane Valley, for $1.3 million, say Summerlyn Feckner and Meredith Randall, co-owners of Ginger Designs.

Coyote Creek Cabinets has been in business for 29 years and operates at a 1,000-square-foot showroom at 321 S. Dishman Mica Road, in Spokane Valley, in addition to a 6,000-square-foot manufacturing facility nearby, explains Feckner.

All nine existing employees of Coyote Creek Cabinets have been retained, and two new staff members have joined since the acquisition, which was completed in May.

Feckner is the new director of operations at Coyote Creek Cabinets, and Randall is the new director of design and media at the cabinet company.

Coyote Creek Cabinet's previous owners also have remained involved as consultants to assist with the transition and to help facilitate the transfer of knowledge regarding industry-specific software that's crucial to the cabinet design and manufacturing process, says Feckner.

"They were very detail oriented ... and we were able to provide our clients with exactly what we were wanting to supply them with," Randall says of working with the previous owners.

Feckner and Randall say their design company, Spokane-based Ginger Co. Interiors LLC, which operates as Ginger Designs, also is expected to benefit from the acquisition, which represents a strategic move to integrate cabinet manufacturing into their existing design business.

The cabinetry company primarily serves residential clients, with cabinets in kitchens, laundry rooms, vanities, and other areas of the home.

"No job is too small," says Feckner. "If you think it, we can build it."

The acquisition of Coyote Creek Cabinets was made through F&R Holdings LLC, a Spokane-based holding company co-owned by Feckner and Randall, in addition to Feckner's husband Kyle Feckner, of Feckner Masonry Restoration, and Randall's husband James Randall, an electrical engineer and woodworker.

Ginger Designs previously had a long-standing relationship working with the cabinet company when the previous owners of Coyote Creek Cabinets began looking to retire and approached Feckner and Randall about an opportunity to purchase the business, explains Feckner.

"We had conversations of business acquisitions, but we weren't exactly sure what that looked like," Feckner adds. "Our holding (company) did not come about until the the offer of Coyote Creek was presented to us."

Coyote Creek is the sole business under F&R Holdings' umbrella, however the Feckner and Randall families aim to eventually expand its portfolio.

Future plans for Coyote Creek include a possible rebrand to reflect the company's new identity and a focus on streamlining the interior design process for clients along with a possible expansion to commercial design services.

"We would want to rebrand and bring a little bit of us into the name," Feckner says. "When that is, we don't know. We want to make sure that we're understanding what built up the previous brand."
