Four independent orthopedic groups in Washington state have announced the formation of the Washington Orthopaedic Value Network, effective in June.
Collectively representing more than 200 physicians statewide, the network is designed to improve access to employers and health plans, reduce costs, and raise the quality of orthopedic care through coordinated treatment protocols.
The four groups include Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists, of Spokane; Olympia Orthopaedic Associates, of Olympia, Washington; Proliance Surgeons, of Seattle; and Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery, of Vancouver, Washington.
“As health care continues to face challenges, the ability to deliver results-driven, value-based care is essential to patients, health plans, and employers,” says WOVN board member Dr. John Pryor in a press release. “WOVN provides direct collaboration with experts in orthopaedic care, across the entire state of Washington, offering a proven strategy to improve patient outcomes while reducing costs.”
WOVN plans to offer direct contracts with employers and health plans, according to a company press release.
WOVN’s model will share clinical protocols, best practices, and outcome data, while allowing each participating group to maintain its independence.
“The collaboration allows us to combine our expertise while preserving the personalized care that independent practices provide,” says Pryor. “Patients benefit from our coordinated approach without losing the local, physician-led care they value.”
Northwest Orthopaedic Specialists operates 13 clinics, including express walk-in locations, physical therapy locations, and ambulatory surgery centers, in Spokane and Spokane Valley, according to the company's website.
