Gold Seal Plumbing, a trade name of Gold Seal Mechanical Inc., of Spokane Valley, has announced multiple leadership changes.

Richard Dixon, who co-founded Gold Seal Plumbing in 1967, has stepped down from his role as CEO but remains president of the company’s board of directors, says Chris Dixon, one of Richard Dixon’s sons, who stepped into the role of interim CEO from his previous position as residential new construction manager.

Chris Dixon also serves as the vice president of the company’s board of directors, and Richard Dixon continues to be the majority shareholder of Gold Seal Plumbing.

“I am both honored and humbled to have been chosen to step into the role that my father Richard Dixon has held for over 50 years,” says Chris Dixon in an email to the Journal. “I have been a part of Gold Seal for 50 years now, a licensed journeyman plumber since 1981, and this opportunity has completely reignited my motivation for the future of this company.”

Richard Dixon’s other son Robert Dixon, a former commercial new construction manager, has been promoted to vice president of operations at Gold Seal and serves as the secretary and treasurer of the board.

Kevin Oliver, who has served as marketing manager at Gold Seal Plumbing for four years, has been promoted to vice president of business development, according to a press release from the company. Courtney Dixon, Chris Dixon’s daughter, has been promoted to vice president of finance after 19 years with the company.

Mike VanDyke has been promoted to director of new construction after 18 years working in the sector, according to the press release. Three journeyman plumbers also have accepted new roles with the company: Shawn Thornburg is the new director of quality assurance, Alex Gurske has been promoted to project manager, and Kelly Thornton has been promoted to superintendent.

The promotions and change in leadership have been in progress for over a year, says Kevin Oliver, in an email to the Journal.

“We still have more to accomplish, but this is a great start and will continue to work until we have the company in the best position to continue to be a leader in the plumbing industry moving forward,” he says.

Gold Seal Plumbing, located at 5524 E. Boone in Spokane Valley, employs about 100 employees, most of whom are plumbers, says Oliver. The company provides plumbing, sewer, new commercial and residential plumbing construction, and residential remodeling services in Eastern Washington and Idaho.
