Fitness club operator and Crunch Fitness franchisee Fit Fusion LLC is opening a $5 million, 30,000-square-foot gym facility in Coeur d’Alene.

Noblesville, Indiana-based Fit Fusion, a franchisee of Elmsford, New York-based Crunch Fitness, is developing the gym at Coeur D'Alene Town Center shopping plaza in a former Big Lots space, at 101 E. Appleway, in Coeur d'Alene. The site is located between a Jimmy John's restaurant and a Big 5 Sporting Goods store.

Mike Goodsell, chief strategy officer at Fit Fusion, says the 24-hour fitness facility is expected to open by November. The location will be Fit Fusion’s first gym in Idaho.

The facility features Crunch Fitness' latest gym design, offering strength and cardio equipment, functional training areas, group fitness, cycling, hot yoga, Pilates, and personal training. Recovery and wellness amenities will include cryotherapy, red light therapy, and hydromassage beds.

Fit Fusion is expecting to hire up to 120 workers at the new location, of which 65% likely will be full-time employees, he says.

Membership rates cost between $9.99 to $29.99 per month, with higher rates providing access to additional classes and amenities. The membership model gives access to services often associated with more expensive boutique fitness studios, explains Tiffany Levine, marketing and communications manager at Fit Fusion.

“Now, they can have hot yoga or hot Pilates, all these different classes, with a gym membership,” Levine says.

The company also will connect with area businesses offering corporate memberships and its Perks Partner program, where participating companies can promote themselves to club members through the partnership, Levine says.

“Any business can reach our thousands of members in any given club,” Levine says.

Fit Fusion began eyeing the Coeur d’Alene market shortly after the company formed in April 2024, Goodsell says, adding that the active population and access to outdoor recreation make it an attractive market for the company.

“North Idaho really struck me as a spot where I think we’ll fit in quite nicely,” Goodsell says.

Fit Fusion operates 21 Crunch Fitness clubs and will have 24 locations by year-end, he notes.
