Gonzaga University is involved in two projects with total construction value of just over $116 million.

Gonzaga and University of Washington have committed to a long-term lease for space in the envisioned, $60 million health sciences building. The structure will accommodate the UW School of Medicine-GU Regional Health Partnership.

Design work on the four-story, 80,000-square-foot health sciences building, to be built at 840 E. Spokane Falls Blvd., is on course to be completed in March. Demolition of existing buildings on the site will begin in the fall, and construction is to be completed by August 2022.

McKinstry Co. will build and manage the structure. CollinsWoerman, of Seattle, is the project architect.

On Gonzaga’s nearby campus, it’s building a $56.1 million Integrated Science and Engineering facility.

Walker Construction Inc., of Spokane, broke ground on the three-story, 82,600-square-foot building last fall. Spokane’s Integrus Architecture PS, Portland, Oregon-based SRG Partnership Inc., and San Diego-based laboratory design consulting firm Research Facilities Design designed it.

The building is expected to be completed in the fall of 2021, in time for the 2021-22 school year.
