Washington manufacturers asked for help to fill medical-supply shortages

Gloves, gowns, hand sanitizer among items being requested

The state of Washington and Impact Washington say they’re working with manufacturing companies – and need more – to redirect their operations during the coronavirus pandemic.

Manufacturing companies that have any role in making critical components, supplies, or equipment that aid the health care, medical, and related industries on the “frontlines” of the COVID-19 crisis are urged to reach out to Impact Washington, according to a press release from the Seattle-area organization.

The current shortage involves nearly two dozen items statewide, including disposable surgical gowns, coveralls, N95 masks, surgical procedure masks, and sanitizing and disinfecting wipes.

Response teams across Washington need at least 500,000 in each gown size or 2 million one-size fits-all gowns, says the release.

Companies that have any of the needed specified products in stock are asked to fill out this form and return it to the Department of Enterprise Services at [email protected].

Washington state also is focusing on bulk donations to fill the highest needs first. Entities that can provide bulk donations of items specified items on this form are asked to complete it and send it to [email protected].

Impact Washington is a statewide nonprofit organization that provides competitive manufacturing business improvement programs, training, and consulting services to help small and mid-sized enterprises excel in all manufacturing aspects.

Impact Washington says email can be sent directly to the organization’s president and center director, Deloit R. Wolfe, at [email protected], or by calling 425.681.6798.
