Hagadone sells printing plan in Hawaii

Closed printing facility fetches $23.3 million

February 27, 2020
Kevin Blocker

Pacific Business News reports affiliates of Hawaiian food distributor Koha Oriental Foods has purchased the former Hagadone printing building in Honolulu for $23.3 million.

Hagadone Hawaii listed the building in January 2019 for $26.5 million a week after shutting down its Hawaiian printing operations.

Hagadone Hawaii is an affiliate of Coeur d’Alene-based The Hagadone Corp., which owns the Coeur d’Alene Resort, and several newspapers, including the Coeur d’Alene Press, among other commercial holdings.

Hagadone representatives couldn’t be reached immediately by the Journal for comment.

HNK Puuhale LLC and JLK Investments LLC bought the 80,102-square-foot building on 2.5 acres of industrial land in the Kalihi Kai neighborhood northwest of downtown Honolulu, says Colliers International Hawaii, which represented Hagadone Hawaii.

“Transferring this property to an expanding owner-user who will improve the property is a great feeling,” William Froehlich, vice president of the industrial and investment services division at Colliers International Hawaii, told the Pacific Business News.
