Journal of Business announces Rising Stars for 2019

Young professionals to be recognized during Sept. 12 presentation

August 15, 2019
Linn Parish

The Journal of Business has selected 10 Spokane-area young professionals to be honored as the 2019 Rising Stars.

This year’s slate of honorees includes five women and five men.

Women on the Rising Stars list are Lacy Crowder, chief financial officer at NAI Black; Mary McDirmid, financial planner and managing director at MassMutual Northwest; Bee Simonds, founder of H Is For Love; Sinead Voorhees, MBA director at Whitworth University; and Rosemary Warnick, owner and president of Premier 1031 Inc.

Men to be recognized this year are Lars Gilberts, CEO of Spokane’s University District; Adam Jackson, an assistant vice president at Mountain West Bank; James Krejci, a vice president at First Interstate Bank; Dan Wadkins, partner at Lee & Hayes law firm; and Spencer Williams, general manager at Amphenol Network Solutions.

The Journal chose the 2019 Rising Stars from a group of about 90 nominations that Journal readers submitted earlier this year. To be eligible for the honor, young professionals must be under 40 years old and work in the Inland Northwest.

The honorees will be recognized at a Rising Stars event that’s scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12, at the McGinnity Room, at 116 W. Pacific, in downtown Spokane. A reception is to start at 5:30 p.m., with the awards presentation and program set for 6-8 p.m.

The event will include a panel discussion featuring four Spokane professionals who have been recognized as Rising Stars in past year. Nadine Burgess, owner of Spokane Gymnastics, will moderate the panel, which will include Brooke Baker Spink, of Baker Construction & Development Inc.; Manny Hochheimer, of Numerica Credit Union; and Ben Klundt, of Ten Capital Wealth Advisors.
