Coeur d’Alene Cider Co. plans to open a cider house and bottle shop east of downtown Coeur d’Alene early next year.

Owner Jill Morrison says she started the company last year and currently operates a production cidery at 3909 Schreiber Way, through which she supplies hard cider to restaurants and gas stations.

Morrison says she is leasing the 1,800-square-foot space at 1327 E. Sherman, at the northwest corner of Sherman Avenue and 14th Street.

She says the space, which was occupied by Rathskellars Pizza previously, will undergo an interior remodel that will include a new kitchen and bar spaces.

 “The remodel will start soon,” she says. “Right now, I’m working with the city to get the okay to move forward.”

Morrison says the cider house likely will have four to six employees and should be ready to open in January.
